Dr. Jane Walter graduated from the New York College of Podiatic Medicine in 1985. She completed a two year surgical residence program at Baptist Medical Center in Brooklyn specializing in forefoot surgery and diabetic foot care. Prior to that, she received a Bachelor of Science from Marquette University and a Master of' Science from New York University in Physical Therapy. Her work with patients who underwent amputations due to diabetic foot problems and interest in sports medicine resulted in her career change to podiatry.

Dr. Walter is board certified by the American Board of Podartric Surgery. She is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Awards and academic honors include recognition in "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities", "Outstanding Young Women of America", membership in the PIMU Delta Society at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and award for scholastic achievement at Marquette University. She has published an article in "The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery" describing and innovative surgical technique for severe correction of severe bunions in senior population.

Dr. Walter has been a resident of Palm Coast since 1987. She was born in New York City and grew up in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Her parents moved to Palm Coast in 1980 and encouraged her to join them due to need for a local podiatrist. She has one son who attends a local school.
